Big Slick is a charity incentive put together by three comedic actors, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis and Rob Riggle. The event happens over one weekend every year and is put together by sponsorships and celebrity donations. The aim is to raise money for the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas, USA. The weekend begins with a celebrity waffle ball tournament, followed by a sponsor meet-and-greet. The next day sees the guys, and plenty of other celebrities play in the Big Slick Poker tournament. All the day’s winners donate a portion of their winnings to the hospital and the top player also wins a seat at the World Series of Poker. The weekend is finished off with the Big Slick Charity Auction, where celebrities, local businesses and local sport heroes donate incredible items and experiences, such as attending the filming of Modern Family, to be auctioned off in order to raise even more funds. This year’s event is set to take place on the 19th and 20th July 2013. Big Slick is a great initiative and the three actors, with the help of their celebrity friends and sponsors help make it a huge success. Over $500,000 was raised for the Children’s Mercy Hospital last year and there are hopes that this year will be even bigger.
